Acts 20:20-21 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Berean Baptist Church is a church with “20/20 Vision”. The Apostle Paul said in Acts 20:20 that he witnessed in public and from house to house. He taught everyone to repent and put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ gave us the Commission to go into all of the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. We are told to win the lost, baptize the saved, and teach them to become disciples of Christ. This is the marching orders of the church of Jesus Christ. We feel that as a New Testament church it is our duty to reach the lost at any cost.
At Berean Baptist Church we will follow the example set in the book of Acts. We will witness any chance we get, we will witness in public, and we will witness methodically from house to house. It is our desire to follow God’s command to His Church.
In the medical world the term “20/20 Vision” is used to describe someone with perfect eyesight. Spiritually we want to see the world through Jesus’ eyes and have a clear vision of what His purpose for our Church is. We believe that many churches have lost sight of what is truly important. They have put their focus on things that have no eternal value. At Berean Baptist Church we will strive to always have the proper vision. We want to stay focused and honed in on fulfilling the Great Commission.
Later in verse 26 Paul says, "Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men." Paul declared that he had faithfully witnessed to every person in Ephesus. Not one person could indict him with not telling them how to be saved. Paul witnessed to every person.
Our goal is to give the Gospel of Christ to every individual in our area, as well as send missionaries to give the Gospel around the world. We will do our part in the evangelizing of a lost and dying world. Our weekly scheduled times are as follows:
Thursday Soul Winning
Saturday Bus Visitation
If you have a desire to learn about leading others to Jesus Christ, but are not able to come during the set times, please call the church and Pastor Pugh will set up a time to go soul winning with you.
Matthew 18:3-6 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Nursery (0-23 months)
We provide clean, loving, and professional nurseries for all of our services. Our dedicated and caring staff will give excellent attention to your child's needs. From infants to toddlers, children are provided with toys and activities designed to fit their specific needs and to develop them where they are.
Certainly, we do our best to try to connect them with Bible stories and songs that will resonate in their hearts and point them toward God and His Word at a very young age. We look forward to serving you and your family.
Toddlers (2-4 yrs)
These young hearts and minds are priceless treasures to God and they are just the same to us. We desire to help them learn, have fun, and grow while they are here with us. They will come home with a song in their hearts and with crafts and coloring pictures that point them to the Lord Jesus Christ in their hands.
We emphasize the importance of obedience, kindness, sharing, and even more importantly, truths like who Jesus is and how much he loves them. Our teachers and workers area dedicated and excited to be a small part in the life of your child.
Junior Sunday School (5-11 yrs)
The Junior class is fun and exciting just like the children that attend. Your child will learn Bible stories, learn and sing songs of praise, and have fun with game time and snack time. The children will learn and be challenged on their own level.
Each child will be provided with an activity sheet to fill out that goes along with the lesson of the day. Our teacher’s use a large book with pictures and flash cards to tell the bible story and they teach in such a way that will keep the children’s attention and fascination.
The three previously mentioned groups will also have their own worship services at the 11:00 AM service time where they will be taught age-appropriate material in a way they can understand and relate.
Psalm 66:1-2 To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm. Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
Ephesians 5:18-19 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Music is a vital part of the worship experience. John 4:23 tells us that God seeks for people to worship Him in Spirit and in truth. It is our desire at Berean Baptist Church to worship and praise God in a way that is pleasing to Him. Worship is an attitude while praise is an action. Worship literally means to adore or reverence. Worship is a result of having the proper perspective of who God is. Praise is a result of that inward attitude towards God. Praise is an outward act of worship. We praise by singing to God and by testifying of God’s goodness. We are told to worship with Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs and that is exactly what you will hear at Berean Baptist Church. We seek to honor God and express our love for Him in music.
Berean Baptist Church is conservative is its music. You will not find a rock concert or a contemporary service at this church. We seek to have music that is honoring to God and exciting. We do not follow the trends of the world in our approach to music. It is our desire to be different than the world rather than copy the world.
Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
In every community there are individuals who for one reason or another do not have transportation to church. The bus ministry is available for children, teens, and adults who would like transportation to church. If you would like to ride the bus to church this Sunday please call our church office at (817) 447-2787.
“B” Sunday School
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Our bus ministry has been picking up so many children that we have had to begin turning down rides to church. As a new church we were just unable to accommodate so many. Many of the children that ride our bus to church are underprivileged children and the time at church is the highlight of their week. To rectify this problem we have started “B Sunday School." ‘B’ Sunday School is a separate service utilizing the whole building just for the children who ride the bus to church. This is a chance for our church members to all get involved and make a difference in these children’s lives.
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Discipleship is a vital part of the Christian’s growth. Every week new Christians are being grounded in their new-found faith. We offer a program called the 13th Disciple. When you enroll in this program you will be placed with an experienced Christian who will help guide you. The 13 lessons cover important topics such as Salvation, Baptism, Eternal Security, The Local Church, How to Pray, What is a Baptist, and many more.
The Bible is an extremely powerful book. It has answers and practical applications for any situation you might be facing. At Berean Baptist Church it is our desire to help you apply Bible truths to your everyday life. Some of the best and most helpful counseling you can receive is from Pastor Pugh's weekly preaching services. From these messages you will learn what the Bible says, why it is important, and how to apply it to your life.
If you live in the Burleson area and have a specific need that you would like to speak to the pastor about, we would love to hear from you and schedule a time to meet your needs. You can schedule an appointment by calling the church office at (817) 447-2787.
